Based out of Amsterdam he is bringing over 20 years of experience in global sales, marketing and business leadership in the consumer electronics and audio industry. Prior to his current position he was the Chief Marketing Officer of Gibson Innovations, one of the world's leading music lifestyle companies, where he was responsible for the marketing and brand management of the multi-brand consumer electronics portfolio that included audio brands like Philips, Onkyo, Trainer and GoGear. Early in his career Edwin has been working in the transformation of the broadcast industry to digital entertainment, before moving to Philips Consumer Electronics in 2006 where he was closely involved in their digital and connected audio portfolio and marketing.
Peter Nelson, Chief Product Officer - Bowers & Wilkins
Working to transform one of the oldest heritages in audio into a leader in the home AV space. I spent the 10 years prior to coming to Bowers working at Apple, almost entirely on the software and user experience side of things. I'm obsessive about making things simple, easy to use, invisible. I believe the companies who will win in our space over the next decade will be people focused. They will be companies who understand how people live their lives, where they store their music, how they most naturally want to interface with it… all the different parts of their lives that they want to carry it into. They'll understand how hardware and software can be crafted to perfectly deliver an experience, rather than just as a tool that users can use to solve their own problems. I'm working to transform Bowers into a leader in the world of home music consumption – and that means providing some pretty startlingly new experiences in that space.
Victor d'Allancé, General Manager, UK & Ireland - Devialet
Victor heads the UK operations of Devialet, the disruptive audio tech start-up that raised €100m in November 2016. Previously in investment banking with BNP Paribas in Paris, Moscow, and London, Victor is responsible for Devialet's growing UK & Ireland subsidiary. His team of 25-strong covers commercial distribution (selective network of high-end resellers, Apple Stores, Harrods, Westfield), marketing, finance and logistics.
Andrew Till, VP Technology & Marketing - Harman
Andrew is the VP for Technology and Marketing, for HARMAN Connected Services. In the technology side of his role Andrew looks at new emerging technologies, developing industry market trends and innovation opportunities. On the marketing side Andrew is focused on driving the divisional marketing strategy, working closely with the business units to stimulate new customer demand and establishing Harman Connected Services as a key industry through leader in its core markets. In addition to these responsibilities he also works with the corporate CTO, IP and Strategy functions to support cross divisional initiatives. Andrew is a regular industry speaker and commentator publishing thought provoking articles on a wide range of subjects from artificial intelligence, to cyber security to the future of smart cities. Prior to joining HARMAN, though the acquisition of SymphonyTeleca, Andrew was the CTO for SymphonyTeleca having joined the company in January 2009.
Riad Hawa, VP Global Hardware Partnerships - Deezer
Riad heads up global hardware partnerships at Deezer. With more than 10 years' experience in consumer electronics and content distribution, Hawa has held a number of senior roles in companies such as Universal Music, Acer and Sony Electronics. His most recent position at Spotify saw him bridging the gap between hardware and the content industries with a view to driving innovation and new thinking. Specific projects that delivered against this included the launch of the first e-Reader in Europe to the first voice controlled experience for Spotify with Amazon Echo.
Andreas Lakeberg, VP Sales & Business Development Europe - Xperi/DTS
Andreas is heading the European team for sales across all Xperi business units and business development for content cervices. Xperi's portfolio of imaging, digital radio and audio solutions under DTS, HD Radio, FotoNation and Play-Fi brands serves the home, automotive and mobile markets. Before joining DTS (now Xperi) in early 2014, Andreas served as the VP & General Manager for Gracenote in Europe where he helped the company to expand from a pure music technology and metadata provider to serve the OTT video and TV market with electric program guides, recommendations and meta data as well. Prior to Gracenote he was leading the European team of DivX Inc. since 2004, the company which enabled as a pioneer the high-quality video experience on any device or platform.
Nikolaj Hviid, CEO & Founder - Bragi
Nikolaj Hviid has years of experience in the field of design and engineering. He is the former head of design at Harman Kardon and was also CEO of Designit, one of Europe's biggest and most innovative design and consultancy agencies. Nikolaj worked with fantastic teams that designed numerous headphones, smartphones and amazing medical equipment. Designit has pioneered advanced user interfaces, winning more than 60 innovation and design awards in the last few years. In 2013 Nikolaj founded Bragi after months of hard work developing the concept of The Dash. Ever since, he has been working tirelessly to bring The Dash from concept to reality.
Canaan Rubin, Director of Content & Production, EMEA - Jaunt VR
Canaan Rubin is Director of Content and Production for EMEA at Jaunt. He is a modern day multi-media guru. A powerful writer, producer, director, storyteller, photographer, and videographer whose work has been enjoyed by millions, Canaan also appears frequently on-camera. Canaan rose through the ranks at traditional media powerhouses such as Paramount Studio, CBS, MTV, and "Entertainment Tonight," and today loans his expertise in creating custom celebrity content to digital giants including Zappos, Zappos Couture, Ustream, and HipHollywood. Canaan advances the content he creates using custom social media campaigns so the content is not only created per a client's direct needs, it is also pushed seamlessly to the client's customers on point and on brand. Canaan is perhaps best known for creating and executive producing MTV's hit show "Duets." He also served a long stint as senior writer, producer, and director for CBS's #1 rated show "Entertainment Tonight" and is a frequent contributor to hit shows such as "Dr. Phil," "The Talk," and "Rachel Ray."
Canaan was co-founder and co-president of A-List Content, which produced weekly fashion trend series seen across the globe by millions. He was both creator and executive producer of "The Trend," A-List Content's flagship series, which has appeared on E! News, and is a regular weekly feature on Zappos Couture in the US and Celebrity Scoop internationally (distributed by FCCE). A-List Content creates custom-built television campaigns for both TV and web distribution platforms.
Elfed Howells, Director, Multiscreen Audio - Dolby
Elfed Howells is a Business Group Director at Dolby. He is based in London, and reports into their headquarters in San Francisco. He is currently responsible for Dolby's Next Generation Audio and Multiscreen Services strategy across worldwide broadcast and OTT markets. Originally trained as a silicon designer, Elfed has since held senior consulting and business roles across the consumer electronics, broadcast, and mobile industries, and has over 20 years' experience in deploying end-to-end audio and video services. He currently holds board level roles with industry organizations such as DVB. and has been a director at Dolby since 2010.
Dom Hodge, Managing Director - FRUKT
Dom has been at FRUKT since it was a start-up. First as a client at Sony, working with the FRUKT founders to launch music download stores, then as a strategist helping brands in the music space. He helped build up the FRUKT planning and creative departments and was part of the team that helped steer the sale of FRUKT to Interpublic group in 2012. His current role as MD spans across the FRUKT offices and he works with clients around the world helping shape strategies and ideas.
Paul Weir, Composer & Sound Designer - Microsoft & Earcom
Paul Weir is a composer, sound designer and audio director whose work can be heard in dozens of games and in sound installations across the world. He runs the audio post-production company Earcom and is the audio director for Hello Games, creators of the hit sci-fi game No Man's Sky and for Microsoft's Lift London studio, where he works on HoloLens AR projects. He has worked on over forty games and last year produced the audio for Breaking Fourth's groundbreaking VR drama, Ctrl. Another aspect of his work is with The Sound Agency, where together they sound design retail spaces using unique generative soundscapes, recently this has included Vienna and Munich airports, Mall of Scandanavia and Aktia Bank. Whilst not a programmer, Paul frequently works closely with software engineers to create bespoke audio tools and is particularly known for his generative and procedural audio innovations.
Patrice Slupowski, VP Digital Innovation - Orange
Patrice Slupowski is Vice-President Digital Innovation running the open-innovation corporate product marketing team of Orange, in charge of several projects around APIs, Internet of Things, mobile applications & mobile OS, personal data aggregation, privacy or emerging technologies (AI, VR, …). Patrice Slupowski is a marketing expert in IoT, social networks, connected TV, wellness & personal data and mobile multimedia services. He founded a start-up called Waptoo in 1999, one of the first companies to believe in the opportunities around mobile data, creating WAP and mobile services and proposing some automated mobile testing software, for companies and telcos, which has been acquired by Lagardere Group. Patrice has been involved in digital space from the very first minute, and is permanently connected from 1990. Patrice is a graduate in Information Science and Technology from Paris-Dauphine University.
Pete Downton, Deputy CEO - 7digital
Pete joined 7digital in June 2014, assuming overall responsibility for its commercial strategy. He brings over 15 years of operational and strategic experience within the heart of the nascent digital music and consumer technology businesses to the role. Prior to 7digital, Pete held key leadership roles at Imagination Technologies, including responsibility for content and consumer experiences across both the Imagination Technologies and PURE businesses. In addition, Pete spearheaded the company's investment in Audioboom. Before joining Imagination, Pete spent over a decade working for Warner Music Group, holding senior management positions in the company's International Marketing and Business Development teams. He helped to build Warner Music International's reputation as one of the most innovative, creative and respected media players in the digital arena and played a key role in establishing ongoing relationships with major global partners such as iTunes, Orange and Vodafone.
Bob Stuart, Creator of MQA - MQA
Bob Stuart is the creator of the revolutionary music technology MQA.
Bob's pursuit of perfect audio reproduction has resulted in remarkable product designs and extensive global recognition. His debut hi-fi system, created in partnership with long-time collaborator Allen Boothroyd, was so innovative that it forms part of the permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and London's Victoria & Albert Museum. Bob and Allen have also won the British Design Council Award for Outstanding British Product a record three times.
