Futuresource Action Camera & 360 Market Report - Worldwide Dec 18

The Worldwide Action Camera market is forecast to reach 9.7m units, a decline of 5% year-on-year. Trade value is set to fall by 10% to $1.6bn due to the increased demand for affordable devices.

Traditional Action Cameras are set to represent >90% of overall shipments in 2018 and through to 2022.

Industry confidence in the 360 consumer camera market has fallen in 2018, and this contributed to manufacturers (e.g. Giroptic, Eken and JK Imaging) exiting the market. Despite relatively impressive demand for devices from Insta360 and GoPro, consumer demand for 360 cameras remains weak and a 17% decline in worldwide shipments is expected in 2018.

This report includes a detailed Excel spreadsheet which segments key countries/regions individually (for those clients that subscribe to Futuresource’s Worldwide service) in terms of volume and value shipments. It includes segmentations by product type (traditional action cameras and 360 consumer cameras), projections out to 2022 and reviews the competitive landscape.
