Global TV shipments fell by 5% in 2022 – marking the second consecutive year of declining global demand – with volume totalling of 219.9 million units during the year. In 2023, global demand for TVs is expected to decline, with volume falling by 1.7% year-on-year. This is a result of the lingering impact of the negative economic environment in the past three years, especially in developed economies. Demand is anticipated to return to growth gradually as of 2025, following improvements in the global economy.
Supply chain issues, global economic uncertainty and rising inflation, due to post-pandemic economic turbulence and the invasion of Ukraine, has led to a fall in TV demand, particularly in developed markets.
