Carsten Olesen, President, Consumer Audio Division - HARMAN

Carsten Olesen started his career with HARMAN in 1999. He started as a Brand Director for HARMAN International, then moved to the sales organization, where he was responsible for commercial strategy, execution of business plan, strategic account development and commercial and distribution Policy.

In January 2009, he became the Commercial Director for HARMAN International in the EMEA Region. In 2012, he moved to the position of GM & VP of the EMEA region. Under his leadership the EMEA organization has undergone massive growth, as has the consumer audio market. 2017 was the most successful year under his leadership yet, when the region delivered a 34% growth in turnover, while improving the profitability of the P&L.

In June, 2019, Mr. Olesen was promoted to the position of President of the Consumer Audio Division. In this new role, Carsten leads global consumer audio business including the engineering and design functions.

Carsten Olesen holds both engineering and business administration degrees. Prior to Joining Harman he worked for a different CE brand and was involved in pro audio and system configuration.


Henrik Brodersen, Senior Global Product Manager - Bang & Olufsen

Henrik Brodersen is a Senior Product Manager at Bang & Olufsen, heading up the earphone category, which includes corded, wireless and true wireless products. He is also part on the Bang & Olufsen SW platform development team and subject specialist on voice assistance within B&O. He has been with Bang & Olufsen for over two years. Henrik has more than 20 years of experience within the field of communications technology, IoT and gaming and have worked for Jabra/GN Store Nord, TDC Telco and PlayStation in the Nordics.



Jason Phipps, Commissioning Editor for Podcast - BBC 

Jason Phipps is the BBC's Commissioner for Podcasts. He was Head of Audio at the Guardian from 2014 to 2018 and has worked in podcast production and commissioning for over a decade. He was at BBC for over eight year until 2007 when he joined the Guardian as an executive producer.

At the BBC, he commissions podcasts for BBC Sounds, which brings together live and on-demand radio, music and podcasts into a single personalised app. Part of Jason's role is to innovate and grow new voices by commissioning content specifically for younger audiences. Recent commissions include: NB, a podcast about coming out as a non-binary; James Acaster's Perfect Sounds 2016 and No Country for Young Women. Other commissions in the pipeline include an ethical spin on true crime and a ten-part investigative series from Irish indie Second Captains.



Pete Wood, Senior Vice President, New Digital Distribution - Sony Pictures Entertainment

Pete Wood serves as Senior Vice President, New Digital Distribution at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Wood currently is part of the Global Distribution Group within Sony Pictures Television and is responsible for New Formats & Technology, One Sony Collaboration, B2B partnerships and New OTT Distribution.

Wood began his career at SPE in 2006. Prior to joining SPE, Wood worked for Just Rams PLC, now Integral Memory PLC, and launched the world’s first movie on mobile (Nokia/Sony 2005) and the world’s first music album on mobile in 2004 (Nokia/EMI).

His prior board roles include Yonder & Bonder, Vice Chairman MEF & Fashion Week Los Angeles (FWLA).


Callum Hubbard, Lead Engineer, Audio Strategy - Jaguar Land Rover

Callum Hubbard is Lead Engineer for Audio System Strategy at Jaguar Land Rover, where he is responsible for developing the audio systems to be fitted in next-generation Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

Callum joined Jaguar Land Rover as a Graduate Engineer six years ago after graduating from Salford University where he studied Acoustics. Working with leaders and partners from across the automotive audio industry, Callum has helped to develop the critically-acclaimed audio systems across the Jaguar and Land Rover product ranges.


Bill Wyman, VP Global Marketing, Car Audio - HARMAN

Bill Wyman brings over 20 years of diverse marketing experience with some of the world’s most recognized consumer brands to his role as HARMAN’s Vice President of Global Marketing for Car Audio. He spearheads the development and execution of global marketing strategies with HARMAN’s automotive partners, working to build brand equity and drive take rate growth across all customers and HARMAN’s portfolio of car audio brands. Prior to joining HARMAN, Bill held various senior marketing positions at PepsiCo, Duracell and Nabisco.


Grace Lo, Managing Director - KEF Audio Group of GP Acoustics International Limited

Ms Grace Lo is Managing Director of KEF Audio Group of GP Acoustics International Limited, which is a member of Gold Peak Group. GP Acoustics is engaged in the sales and marketing and retail development for the UK high-end loudspeaker brand KEF.

Ms Lo is also Deputy General Manager of the Hong Kong-listed Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) Limited, the holding company of Gold Peak Group which is an Asian multinational manufacturing and marketing group with industrial investments in the battery and electronics industries.

In her previous capacity as the Director, Brands & Innovation, Ms Lo involved in the brand development for the group’s major product categories in China, including battery products and electrical installation products.

Prior to joining Gold Peak in 2002, Ms Lo worked in the telecommunications and ecommerce industries focusing on service design and product development. She was also a co-founder of an auction website in Hong Kong.

Ms Lo holds an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Master of Design degree in Human-centered Communications Design from the Institute of Design of Illinois Institute of Technology in the US. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Northwestern University, US.


Hannah Telfer, Managing Director, Audiences & Audio - Penguin Random House UK

As Managing Director for Audiences & Audio at Penguin Random House UK, Hannah looks after Penguin Random House Audio, the Penguin Live and Penguin Connect events businesses, audience insight and their audience platforms. Hannah is also a trustee of The Reading Agency and a mentor with Creative Access.

Penguin Random House Audio is the UK's No.1 publisher of audiobooks, with a list packed full of award-winners and bestsellers from Michelle Obama's 'Becoming' to Yuval Noah Harari's 'Sapiens'. They are also the global publisher of BBC Audio, and producer of many hit podcasts including the Penguin Podcast and Dolly Alderton's Love Stories. 


Andreas Ehret, Director, Technology Marketing - Dolby

Andreas has been active as a technology leader in the audio industry for over two decades. He joined Dolby back in 2007 and since then served the company in various engineering and technology VP leadership roles, managing the teams that created solutions scaling into billions of consumer devices.

Over the past couple of years, his focus had been on the market introduction of Dolby’s next generation audio codec AC-4, as well as contributions to bring the Atmos music experience to life. More recently, Andreas has shifted his role towards an outbound role – working on the intersections of technology and innovation, business development, and media industry relationships to create impactful consumer experiences.

Andreas is a strong believer in concepts such as use-case driven exploration, lean principles, rapid prototyping, collaboration with the industry, maintaining artistic intent, and validating consumer value.


Tim Johnston, SVP & GM of Headphones Business Unit - Bowers & Wilkins

Tim Johnston is a consumer electronics executive with over 25 years of experience with audio technology and product development. He joined Bowers & Wilkins in 2017 as VP of Engineering, leading engineering and program management functions. He has since spearheaded the creation of the newly-formed headphone business unit that recently launched the new PX7, PX5, PI4 and PI3 wireless headphone product families. Johnston is currently SVP and the General Manager of the Headphone Business Unit.

Prior to joining Bowers & Wilkins, Johnston held various VP roles at Plantronics (now Poly) including leading the comprehensive platforming and technology development, worldwide audio and hardware, and product development of consumers headsets and headphones. Additionally, Johnston has held Adjunct Professor roles with four universities for Design Thinking. He is a registered professional engineer and an inventor on over 20 utility patents.

Johnston earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gonzaga University, and received the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) certificate in General Management and Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Chris Havell, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Voice & Music - Qualcomm Technologies

Chris Havell is Senior Director, Product Marketing at Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd.’s voice & music business unit, where he is responsible for the full portfolio of wireless audio solutions, addressing the high-growth personal audio and portable speaker products.

Havell brings more than 30 years’ experience in the high-tech industry and joined Qualcomm as part of the CSR acquisition. Prior to CSR he held senior product marketing roles at AMD, ATI and NEC, primarily covering single chip MPEG Video and Audio platforms for Digital Television and Set Top Boxes.

Havell has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick.


Joscha Kretschmann, Team Lead Manager, Professional Product Management - beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG 

Joscha Kretschmann is an audio enthusiast from south Germany working for the renowned headphone manufacturer beyerdynamic. As a DJ and Producer the Audio industry was always in his focus and after his degree in marketing and product management he decided to start his professional career at beyerdynamic 7 years ago. Working in different departments like Product Management, Marketing and Business Development he takes responsibility for the professional Product Management-Team which includes professional headphones, gaming headsets and studio microphones. His actual role at beyerdynamic includes the strategic portfolio development, product development projects and marketing and sales projects. With focus on professional audio products he and his team are working constantly to develop solutions for the growing content creator scene.


Bill Neighbors, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Cinema & Home - DTS

Bill Neighbors oversees Xperi’s cinema, home, digital media, and streaming solutions. Prior to his current role, Neighbors was responsible for corporate strategy and development and cinema initiatives at DTS, Inc. – Xperi’s predecessor company. With a successful track record managing organisations in the entertainment electronics, software and technology sectors, Neighbors was instrumental in launching DTS in the early 1990’s, serving as executive vice president, general manager from 1993 to 1996, and president from 1996 to 1999. He holds a B.S. in business and finance from California State University, Northridge.


Jeremy Keefe, Regional Vice President Sales, UK & Ireland - Poly

Jeremy Keefe is the Regional Vice President Sales, UK & Ireland at Poly, appointed in January 2019. He leads the region’s sales and support teams and is responsible for sales growth and the delivery of a high-performing support function for both the channel and enterprise markets.

Keefe joined Polycom (now Poly) in April 2012 as Area Sales Vice President for UK and Ireland. In 2014 he assumed the additional responsibility of the Benelux region to become the Vice President Sales for UK, Ireland and Western Europe at Polycom.

An experienced IT sales leader, Keefe has an excellent track record in successfully transforming businesses’ go-to-market strategies in technology areas including managed services, voice/data networks and enterprise servers. Over the last 18 years, he has built, managed and developed sales teams at companies including Westcon, Computacenter, Avaya and, most recently, Citrix, where he managed sales and marketing for the UK.


Guillaume Le Nost, Executive Director, Creative Technologies - L-Acoustics

Guillaume Le Nost holds advanced degrees in Acoustics and Electric and Electronics Engineering, obtained while leading research projects for some of France’s largest corporations, coupled with a start-up entrepreneurial background in audio technologies applied to gaming and VR. Le Nost brings this rich cross-disciplinary and future-focused mindset to the L Acoustics team, resolving technical challenges that would confound most with fresh perspectives.

Le Nost played a pivotal role in the earliest R&D efforts that led to the development of L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound, the groundbreaking multidimensional audio technology from L-Acoustics. Since its market debut in 2016, L-ISA technology has been deployed and enjoyed on tour, at events, and in permanent installations around the world. Early adopters include Ennio Morricone, Lorde, BBC Proms, The Classic BRIT Awards, alt-J, Aerosmith, Childish Gambino, Bon Iver and more. By the end of 2019, more than 10 million people worldwide will have experienced shows and events in presented in L-ISA.


Anders Andreen, CEO - Urbanista

Anders has held the CEO position of Urbanista for the last 6 years, building it up from a start-up to one of the leading brands in the Nordics and is sold by retailers across the world. Experiencing fast growth, Urbanista is creating products for modern and active people who appreciate both design and function. 

Prior to Urbanista, Anders was the CEO of a Design Agency that services small and large brands with attractive and relevant graphical identities and packaging design. This is still the core mindset of Urbanista. Anders also had leading positions at OSM Global, doing accessories for mobile phones and Flextronics, producing phones for Sony Ericsson.


Helienne Lindvall, Director of Business Development & Artist Relations - LANDR UK

Helienne Lindvall is Director of Business Development and Artist Relations, LANDR UK. She is also an award-winning professional songwriter, musician and columnist, and is Chair & Board Director of the Ivors Academy of Music Creators (formerly British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors BASCA). In addition, Helienne chairs the esteemed Ivor Novello Awards. She’s also the writer behind the Guardian music industry columns Behind the Music and Plugged In and is the former Head of Business & Songwriter relations for song data management platform Auddly/Sessions, backed by hitmakers Max Martin and Abba’s Björn Ulvaeus.

Hailing from Sweden, she worked as a session singer, recording artist and performer in Stockholm and NYC before settling in London, where she signed a publishing deal with BMG Scandinavia and, later, Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia. Since then she’s been working with recording artists on both sides of the Atlantic, including Roger Sanchez, Sunloverz, Big Daddy Wilson and the Dark Tenor, collaborating with award-winning writers including Jörgen Elofsson (Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears), Patrik Berger (Icona Pop, Robyn) and Steve McEwan (Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood). In 2016, her song A Better Man, co-written by Andrew Fromm (Backstreet Boys, Mark Anthony) and Peter Kvint (A-ha, Andreas Johnson) made the UK Eurovision finals.

Helienne contributed a chapter for the Swedish book Myten om Internet (The Myth of the Internet), published August 2012. She’s also written for Digital Music News, Netopia, The Musician, The Australian and STIM-Magasinet, and regularly appears on Sky News, the BBC, Irish National Radio and Swedish National Radio, discussing songwriters’ rights, copyright and other music industry issues.


Laurence Hobden, Research & Applied Technologies Team Leader - Meridian Audio

Laurence Hobden is Research and Applied Technologies Team Leader at Meridian Audio in Cambridgeshire, UK. Whilst studying for his masters in Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems at the University of York he undertook an industrial placement year with Meridian which he spent researching the possibilities of manipulating psychoacoustic localisation cues in order to change the perceived location of loudspeakers. Once he completed his undergraduate studies, he carried out a PhD at the University of York's Audio Lab, sponsored by Meridian, investigating the relationship between the morphology of the human ear and spectral cues within head-related transfer functions. He has been working full time at Meridian for two and a half years now, where he oversees Meridian’s research and the application of Meridian's technologies and expertise with a number of brand partners within automotive, marine, airline and consumer electronics.


Ruth Fitzsimons, Managing Director - Podfront UK

Ruth Fitzsimons is the Managing Director at Podfront UK, a joint venture between two of the world's biggest podcast companies Stitcher and Wondery. Prior to this, she was SVP of International Operations at the podcast platform Audioboom, where she oversaw the growth of Audioboom's UK, lndian and Australian operations, taking the company from being a start-up to being an established industry player, operating on four continents. Over the last 5 years, Ruth has been at forefront of content strategy and commissioning, distribution and advertising partnerships. Ruth's background is as an award-winning radio producer and journalist with production credits in UK and Ireland including BBC, Global’s LBC, RTÉ and Newstalk.


Shay Kamin Braun, Director of Product Marketing - Knowles Electronics

Over the past 15 years, Shay has held several key product marketing roles in audio and consumer electronics across the industry. Currently serving as the head of product marketing for Knowles Electronics’ commercial hearing health technologies business, Shay is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of the business, bringing innovative technologies into the consumer earphone space.

Prior to working for Knowles, Shay spent six years in several product marketing roles at Qualcomm, focusing on audio systems, chips and technologies for IoT, mobile and other consumer electronics. Most recently, Shay managed product marketing for Qualcomm's smart speaker platform business, where he was involved in the extensive growth of the voice assistant ecosystem that occurred over the past several years.

Prior to Qualcomm, Shay worked at Marvell Semiconductor and at several startups.

Shay holds a BA in Computer Science and Business Management, as well as an MA in Linguistics, both from Tel Aviv University in Israel.


Richard Lindsay-Davies, CEO - Digital TV Group

Richard Lindsay-Davies is the Chief Executive of the Emmy winning Digital TV Group (DTG). For over two decades the DTG has brought together all key sectors of digital TV to collaborate with their technical experts, creating the best viewing experience across the UK. DTG has defined the core requirements of every television set sold in the UK. The group has not only been central to the development of digital television in the UK, including many world firsts, but has influenced international developments such as digital terrestrial TV, widescreen and through its work on connected television, HbbTV. Today the DTG works with its members in a far more global context to drive developments such as on-demand and internet TV, video advances like UHDTV, VR, AR and immersive audio. An engineer by profession, Richard’s experience spans design, marketing, strategy and delivery across the consumer electronics and television industries. 


Robbie Dunne, Managing Director - Miloco Studios

Robbie is a highly successful Sales Director with a keen business mind and proven track record of creating new verticals for a range of pro audio, AV and IT businesses. Reporting to the Owner of Miloco, this high-end audio and recording studio product specialist, brokering, building, installing and financing, Robbie is responsible for creating the sales business with full day-to-day management incl. full P&L ownership, strategy and planning. Robbie is very hands-on with a strong reputation across professional, SME and blue-chip clients with specialist pro-audio, retail, education, pro-AV and business development knowledge.


Laurence Harrison, Director of Automotive Partnerships - Radioplayer

Laurence leads Radioplayer’s work with the automotive industry across Europe and Internationally, building partnerships with the leading car manufacturers and multimedia technology suppliers around metadata, HMI design and smart radio development in connected and autonomous cars. He is also Chairman of the WorldDAB Automotive Group, a collaboration of broadcasters, car manufacturers and technology suppliers, and leads the work on developing the future in-car radio user experience. He previously worked for Digital Radio UK where he led the partnerships with car manufacturers that saw digital radio included as standard in all new cars.


Mirek Stiles, Head of Audio Products - Abbey Road Studios

Mirek Stiles started working at Abbey Road Studios as a recording engineer in 1998, working on a diverse range of projects including The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Beatles Anthology, Muse, Kanye West, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Paul McCartney. Mirek also worked as a Digital Producer in the Abbey Road Interactive department on a range of DVD and Blu-ray titles including Roxy Music, Ringo Starr and Reservoir Dogs.

Today, Mirek runs the studio’s Audio Products department leading development of a range of software and hardware releases based on Abbey Road’s historic recording IP with partners Waves Audio and Chandler Limited. Mirek also sits on the board and acts as an advisor on the Abbey Road Red incubation programme and is currently exploring and experimenting with Spatial Audio over headphones, ambisonics and multi-microphone array recording techniques. Recent projects include collaborations with film/TV and video game composer Stephen Barton, joint research with the University of York and chairing the Abbey Road Spatial Audio Forum, bringing together members from gaming, broadcast, VR, music production and film.

A regular speaker at AES, IFA and other specialist audio forums, as well as broadcast TV & radio, Mirek’s expertise spans over 20 years and every department within the studios, from analogue and vintage recording workflows through to the latest immersive medias including 6 Degrees of Freedom Virtual Reality and Dolby ATMOS capturing and rendering options.


Gerard Loosschilder, Vice President of Market Insights - WS Audiology 

Gerard Loosschilder is Vice President of Market Insights at WS Audiology, makers of Widex and Signia hearing aids, since early 2018. Gerard has about 30 years of experience in market research and insights, across the academic, client and agency side, across a wide variety of industries, including CPG, consumer electronics, healthcare, telecom, and management consulting, and across markets from the far east to the far west. Gerard has a PhD in business and market research from Delft University of Technology, Industrial Design Engineering. He has been with Philips Electronics for years, including a few years in and from the US. He has been Chief Methodology Officer at SKIM, a quantitative market research firm with offices worldwide. He has been running its own drive-in show in the Netherlands in the 80's and early 90's. Gerard’s passion is for storytelling in business, combining a profound understanding of analytics.


Timothy Carroll, CEO - Focusrite Engineering

Tim is the CEO of Focusrite Engineering, a publicly traded company that incorporates five brands: Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Novation, AMPIFY and Adam Audio. Tim began his career as a touring musician back in the mid 80s and early 90s and became heavily involved in technology, including Digital Audio Workstations such as Pro Tools. Tim began working for Digidesign/Avid, the maker of Pro Tools , in 1997 and stayed with the company for almost 18 years, taking leadership positions in sales and marketing, product, and ultimately steering the entire P&L for Digidesign/Avid’s audio division. Under Tim’s leadership, the company successfully entered the large format console market with the ICON and S6 console, the live sound market with Venue and S6L, and in the Notation market with the acquisition of Sibelous. Tim came to Focusrite in January 2017 and under his leadership the company has experienced tremendous growth and expansion, but with the core brands and all thru acquisition.


Mike Dias, Executive Director - In-Ear Monitor International Trade Organisation (IEMITO)

Mike Dias, known throughout the industry as an expert in custom in-ear monitors, has created an organization called the In-Ear Monitor International Trade Organization (IEMITO) in an effort to bring together in-ear manufacturers, dealers, suppliers, sound engineers and end users. The goal of the organization is to be a repository of unbiased information and to serve as a directory for all members with features such industry best practices, education, job placement assistance, trade show and event participation as well as the promoting the use and enjoyment of in-ear monitors.

Mike learned the in-ear industry while working for Jerry Harvey in the very early days of Ultimate Ears — before they had their own lab and were working with Westone as their in-ear manufacturer. He helped them move from Las Vegas to Irvine after they took on their initial round of investment capital and he helped launch the original, and the successful universal in-ear lines when less than 1% of retail headphone sales were over the $79 price point. He later became global Sales & Marketing director for Logitech, parent company of Ultimate Ears.

He’s watched the industry grow from the back of a tour bus to what it is today and has been able to cultivate mutual respect and friendships with all of the pioneers of the industry. The idea for IEMITO had been brewing for a while and it was hard not to notice just how big the industry became with many manufacturers now participating globally. Since its launch, the organization has been an immediate hit with manufacturers in the US, Europe and Asia.

When he is not advocating for in-ear monitor use, Mike is an in-demand speaker who talks about customer relationship management philosophies and optimising sales processes.


Danny Aronson, Co-Founder & CEO - EVEN

A classically trained composer, Mr. Aronson earned a degree in Music Composition from the University of Tel Aviv’s Buchman-Mehta Academy of music.

He co-founded and, for 20 years, was a partner in Israel’s largest post-production sound studio, specializing in sound design for TV and radio, in addition to documentaries, dramas and feature films. He co-founded one of Israel's first online marketing agencies, sold to M&C Saatchi.


Paul Gillies, Director, Headphone Revolution Ltd

Paul founded Silent Disco King in 2009, whilst working as a breakfast presenter on Capital FM, and set off on a mission to bring Silent Disco to the masses. Clients include Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festivals as well as the Big Brother TV show.

In 2019 Silent Disco King presented the world’s largest wireless headphone event with 30,000 headphones at Lowlands Festival, Netherlands as well as a binaural premiere of the Ibiza movie, including a live sound track performed by Fatboy Slim.

We also own the Silent Conference brand, which now has offices in USA, Germany and Australia, and hosts the world’s largest conference events for clients including Adobe, Amazon and Google. In addition, wireless headphones systems are in over 200 UK schools through our partnership with Now Press Play.

In 2017, the company name was changed to Headphone Revolution ltd to better reflect the wider array of wireless audio solutions we provide to conferences,  educations, sports, films and entertainment.


Kurt Thielen, CEO - Zebralution

Kurt Thielen is the founder and CEO of Zebralution, one of the biggest digital distributors for music and audiobooks in the world. Thielen started his career working in a record shop in 1979 and was the Head of Rough Trade Records and later Zomba Records in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for more than 20 years, working with a wide range of acts from New Order and The Smiths to Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. After the company was sold he founded Zebralution as the first real digital distribution company in Germany with a worldwide focus.

In 2007, the Warner Music Group acquired Zebralution. Since 2010, digital audiobook, and especially streaming has become an important factor in Zebralution’s portfolio. In April 2017, Thielen bought Zebralution back from Warner together with experienced industry executives.

Zebralution works with all audiobook publishers, big and small in Germany but the focus is becoming increasingly international, expanding to English and foreign language territories. To complete their 'All Audio' approach Thielen founded German podcast company last year. In October 2018 IG Hoerbuch, the body of the German audiobook publishers, awarded Thielen as 'Audiobook Person of the Year 2018'.
