The Futuresource 2024 Global report for the Video Entertainment sector see’s consumer spend reach $325 billion dollars, a year-on-year growth of 1% with the box office sector underperforming vs expectation. 2025 projection, is for 3.6% growth with cinema bouncing back (10% up year-on-year), and Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) providing the main increase in spend up 9% (YoY).
Pay-TV the largest revenue driver, representing now just under half of all entertainment consumer spend saw a 4% decline YoY, however household subscriptions see a softer dropoff, as consumers shift to lower cost delivery methods such as IPTV or Pay-TV Lite.
