Ex Kobalt Music Streaming Specialist Joins Futuresource Consulting

The Media and Entertainment Team at Futuresource Consulting welcomes Alexandre Jornod into its Digital Entertainment Team, as a newly appointed music and audio analyst, further bolstering its services for clients across the media, entertainment and audio technology sectors.

Jornod brings with him skills and experience from Kobalt Music Group, where he managed and nurtured relationships with well-known music streaming services including Apple, Deezer, NetEase, KKBox and Qobuz at AWAL (Kobalt’s music recordings entity).

Further career achievements include growing the Kobalt streaming footprint in conjunction with developing a thorough understanding of the streaming business. Prior to Kobalt, Alexandre worked at the Dutch classical record label Pentatone, which he joined after graduating with a Masters in Science from Warwick Business School. He notably helped Pentatone successfully transition to digital by embracing the latest trends in the streaming domain.

"We are delighted to welcome Alexandre to our team, and his recruitment will further ignite Futuresource’s drive to the next stage of growth,” commented David Sidebottom, Principal Analyst at Futuresource Consulting. “Alexandre has been on the cutting edge of music tech throughout his career and his passion has driven him into different functional roles from digital strategy to business development, account management and marketing. Alexandre’s passion and knowledge gained in his previous roles will be leveraged to help shape Futuresource’s services in the dynamic music and audio technology sector.”

Jornod says, “Futuresource Consulting has worked in the heart of the media, entertainment and technology industries for over 30 years, spanning the whole ecosystem. I am excited to be joining them as there is so much happening in the world of music and audio right now. It is not just about the content but its context in relation to distribution and access. I am looking forward to working with colleagues and clients to map out how this increasingly dynamic landscape shifts.”

Futuresource has tracked the global music market for over 30 years; working closely with major and independent labels as they have witnessed the revolutionary transition away from packaged media to digital services. Innovation in online platforms has sparked a music renaissance enhanced by a new generation of audio hardware in the home and on the move.
