Medium-sized meeting rooms are a key target for technology suppliers. They are large enough for more complex AV solutions to be in demand, and also have far lower levels of technology penetration than large meeting rooms. In terms of installed base, technology adoption in medium rooms is only one or two percentage points larger than in small rooms, which provides plenty of opportunity for growth. With larger average budgets available, the industry will continue to focus on building products and solutions for these spaces.
The value of meeting room microphones grew by 16% year-on-year in 2021, with the main driving force coming from the corporate market. However, the education market continues to have an important role to play, and presents an opportunity for growth. Futuresource expects this category to grow at a CAGR of 11% in value and 5% in volume across the forecast period.
The relatively new wireless conferencing category accounted for 22% of all WPS (Wireless Presentation Solution) volumes in 2021. As collaboration and remote work remain a key focus for businesses in their corporate meeting spaces, these solutions are well placed to capitalise on the need for businesses to invest in a hybrid working future.
