Futuresource announces upcoming BYOD End User Survey 2025

Futuresource Consulting is excited to announce the forthcoming release of the BYOD End User Survey 2025, the latest in our ongoing series exploring Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) adoption in K-12 education across key global markets.

Building on the insights from the 2024 edition, the new report will provide updated perspectives from both parents and schools in the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, India, and Japan. It will delve into device purchasing behaviours, school deployment strategies, and the evolving expectations of families and educators.

Key findings from the 2024 report revealed that nearly three-quarters of parents were offered some form of 1:1 device initiative, with BYOD being the most common model. Over 60% of schools reported plans to expand 1:1 access, particularly in secondary education. Parents overwhelmingly supported BYOD, citing flexibility and educational value, though affordability remained a concern.

The report also highlighted that notebooks, laptops, and Chromebooks were the most commonly purchased devices, with schools increasingly specifying operating systems and brands. Purchasing channels varied, with most parents buying through retailers, though school portals and direct-from-school options were also significant.

For device manufacturers, the upcoming 2025 report will be essential reading. As BYOD adoption grows, so does the opportunity to engage directly with parents now key decision-makers in the education technology space.

The report will offer actionable insights into timing, channel strategy, product positioning, and bundling opportunities. Stay tuned for the release of the BYOD End User Report 2025 and gain the competitive edge in the evolving EdTech landscape.
