Futuresource Collaboration Bars: Global Market Review

The whole AV industry faced challenging market conditions during H1 2024, and the video bar market proved no exception. Global video bar volumes increased from H1 2024 to H2 2024 (+10% over six months). By most accounts, H2 2024 was more positive than the first six months of the year, but there is still a feeling that market growth has slowed.

There is a growing corporate focus on small rooms (for 4-6 people), for which video bars are “good enough” to meet most business use cases. Increasingly, we are seeing all-in-one devices being marketed as standalone solutions for smaller meeting rooms, such as the Jabra PanaCast 40 VBS (announced at ISE 2025). 2023 was the year of the collaboration bar, with several traditional video hardware vendors - such as Cisco, Logitech, Lumens and Poly/HP - expanding their product portfolio with a video bar. This trend appears to be continuing into 2024, with Barco (ClickShare Core/Pro), DTEN (Bar), HP Poly (Studio V52) Logitech (MeetUp 2), Neat (Bar 2) and WolfVision
(Cynap) announcing new video bar models in H1 2024.

Given the challenging macroeconomic conditions that continue to hang over 2024, all-in-one video bars represent a relatively cost-effective way for AV decision makers to enable meeting room spaces with both audio and video functionality. Futuresource’s H1 2024 Channel Research found that enterprises are prioritising two types of space for video enablement: larger, multi-purpose meeting rooms (such as board rooms and training rooms) and ad hoc spaces.
