At the end of 2023, just under half of employees were fully office based (46%), 39% were hybrid workers and 15% were either fully remote or fully flexible. Among those working hybrid or remotely, (63%) felt that their employers would like them to spend more time in the office.
Most employees who work in offices are there because of company policy. However, 34% mentioned feeling more connected to co-workers when working from the office and 29% cited the greater opportunities for collaboration.
Having the ability to work from home, at least sometimes, when looking for a new job is viewed as important by the majority: 35% rated it as extremely important and 31% rated it as somewhat important. It was considered particularly important by senior employees and those in the 36-45 age bracket.
