The Interactive Displays market accumulated over 25 million units of global sales during the period of CY2010 to CY2023 and continues to exhibit volume growth. Over this time, sales have pivoted from Interactive Whiteboards, IWB (98% of volumes in CY2010) to LCD Interactive Flat Panel Displays, IFPD (98% of volumes in CY2023).
As of the end of CY2023, there were 4.6 million IWBs and 10.4 million IFPDs installed in K-12 Education globally. The Education sector provides a vast target market for IFPD/IWB vendors, with over 43 million classrooms and 1.5 billion enrolled students and teachers in K-12 across the world.
Whilst IWBs were more or less exclusively used in Education for many years, the Corporate meeting room market has become a secondary driver for IFPD, (although Education, especially K-12, accounted for 82% of global IFPD volume demand in CY2023). The addressable market of Corporate meeting spaces (71 million globally, according to Futuresource’s TAM data) is larger than the number of K-12 classrooms, and existing penetration is low, especially in smaller meeting rooms and breakout spaces.
