2023 within the UK market saw consumer spend surpass £11 billion, with Pay-TV and Subscription dominate the landscape, representing 76% of all consumer revenue generated across the five sectors tracked.
However slow down in uptake of services, as saturation levels are reached for streaming services, and a slight increase in the levels of households stepping away from Pay-TV services, means that a longer-term outlook will expect to see a flatter projection for spend here in the UK.
Spend across Streaming services was the main influence on the lower than expected performance for 2023, with a drop of over £200 million. This was influenced by subscriber numbers being flat, vs. the expected 3 million growth that had been forecasted.
