Across the five sectors tracked, the UK Entertainment market ended 2024 with a consumer spend worth £11.2 billion. 2025 is expected to see a further 2% increase as total spend hits £11.4 billion.
The vast majority of this growth is coming from Subscription Video on Demand, accounting for 42% of sales in 2025. However, the historic scale of spend from Pay-TV operators means this sector remains the leading area of spend with a 45% share.
The market outlook remains cautiously optimistic, with total revenue projected to grow at just over 1% CAGR from 2025 to 2029.
SVoD will remain the primary driver, with Box Office and Digital Transactional segments also expected to contribute to overall market expansion.
