Current Global Wearable Market Trends

The global wearables market finished 2021 on strong from, growing 28% and shipping 488 million units, which generated $73 billion in retail value. The industry is expected to continue to grow throughout the forecast period, with a 2022-2026 CAGR of 18.8%, resulting in a market size of just under one billion units and a market value of $153 billion.

Apple leads the wearables charge, dominating both wrist-worn and hearable segments, and accounting for more than one in every four devices purchased in 2021. The tech giant has commanded the lion’s share of these two key markets for some time. It’s also ahead of its rivals in terms of creating a wider ecosystem of complementary products and services.

Apple’s closest rivals, Xiaomi, Samsung and Huawei all have a single-digit share, and are the only other vendors with more than 5% share of the market.
